OCIO Analytics provides a unique platform with eight specialized modules that deliver real, actionable insights into the OCIO industry. Populated with data from the Alpha Nasdaq OCIO Indices, OCIO Analytics offers a comprehensive third-party platform. The peer universes draw from the performance and asset allocation data from over 1,400 institutional clients across fifty-three leading investment firms, all reported net of all fees. Data is updated on a quarterly basis to allow for more timely comparisons than alternative benchmarking platforms.
To ensure meaningful comparisons across institutions, OCIO Analytics assigns each portfolio to one of five mutually exclusive risk-based universes. This classification is grounded in a consistent taxonomy of twenty-five asset classes, which are categorized as either Growth or Risk-Mitigating based on long-term historical volatility. Asset classes with a standard deviation above 10% are considered Growth, while those below—such as Cash, Fixed Income, and Hedge Funds—are designated as Risk-Mitigating. An institution's allocation to these asset classes determines its assignment to a risk-based index, ranging from Aggressive (0%–20% risk-mitigating) to Conservative (76%–100% risk mitigating). This structure eliminates comparisons across differing risk profiles, resulting in more accurate peer analysis and industry benchmarking. By grounding risk classification in objective, volatility-based criteria, the platform delivers more transparent and actionable insights.
